Roll out the geotextile fabric on the compacted subgrade, ensuring it is free of wrinkles and folds. Follow the engineer's instructions for overlapping the fabric. For this job, the fabric needs to be stitched on-site. Use a dual thread lock stitch to prevent the fabric from unthreading. Equipment for stitching is available for purchase or rental. Depending on the engineer's discretion, you can choose a prayer seam, j-seam, or butterfly seam. In this example, we will be using a j-seam. It is recommended to do two stitches on each seam to prevent any failure during installation.
